Principle of Legitimacy
Monarchs from royal families should regain control of power that they lost during Napoleonic Wars in order to keep balance of powers in Europe. Going back to the old traditional way - back to conservative ways.

The Principle of Intervention: the great powers of Europe had the right to send armies into countries where there were revolutions in order to restore legitimate monarchs to power.

- Revolts in Italy. Congress of Vienna and and Concert of Europe created nine Italian statutes which were controlled by conservatives which were against liberal and nationalistic sentiment under Austrian domination.

Later on died, and was replaced by Charles X, who supported ultraroyaltists, paid money to those, who lost land. After demonstrations Metternich forces German Confederation to censor press, universities were controlled by the state, kept conservatism and quo. ______________________________________________________________________ Alex the I went back to conservative policies, after his death Nicholas I takes over and crushes liberal rebellion. He also bureaucracy and secret police, and also had power of deportation of threatening to country people and along with that also used the troops to uphold rebellions and destroy them. ______________________________________________________________________ |
All of the Policies proposed by Metternich were able to hold Europe in balance for almost 100 years. He was able to restore peace between countries and prevent future wars over territory. He created base for foundation of league of Nations trough Congress of Vienna and Concert of Europe.

- League of Nations was created in WWI for international cooperation within victorious countries in order to work together in solving international problems.
